We look forward to welcoming you ... Agandi
We are welcoming volunteers who are interested in experiencing a wide range of difference jobs – such as teaching nursery and primary school children during term-time, working with local children of all ages doing sports, art & crafts and helping improve English conversation at all times even during the holidays; helping in our Medical Centre and going on outreach trips with the staff into local village homes; helping with current building projects; general handyman work such as painting, carpentry etc.
We can also organise official or informal Medical Elective Placements at no extra cost, when students can shadow or assist the local staff at our own Medical Centre and also the easily reached Government District Hospital in Itojo.
During your stay at Uganda Lodge there are opportunities of going on several different trips such as gorilla trekking, Chimp habituation, visits to the Batwa people and safaris to Queen Elizabeth Nation al Park or Lake Mburo.
Volunteers can stay overnight for a visit to Rwanda or to Lake Bunyonyi and day trips to Lake Nyabihoko, visit a ancient ceremonial site to see the ‘rocking stones’ and bathing in the hot springs. There are many beautiful walks in the hills surrounding Uganda Lodge and visitors are always welcomed into the village homes when they pass by.

What happens next?
After you submit the form, providing you have given a valid contact point (preferably email address if outside the UK) we will consider your request and reply to you promptly.
Please note that, unlike other volunteer projects, we do not charge any processing fees and all admin work is also undertaken by volunteers. It would therefore help when filling in the application form if you could give as much detail as possible for us to assess your application.
Sending in the form does not commit you at this stage but provides both you and the project the opportunity to explore a potential placement.
In the meantime have you considered the other ways you can help such as sponsoring a child at our school or making a donation?
